Madrid is once again the backdrop for an ambitious television production, as filming for \u201cLa Agencia<\/a>,\u201d the Spanish adaptation of the French mega-hit \u201cCall My Agent!,\u201d is in full swing. With a stellar cast and a production team determined to capture both the glamour and the grit of the entertainment industry, \u201cLa Agencia\u201d is poised to become one of Spain\u2019s most talked-about television events of the year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The series takes place in the offices of Rebecca Talent, one of the most important artistic representative agencies in the country, where the four agents \u2013 Gabi (Javier Guti\u00e9rrez), Andrea (Manuela Velasco), Mat\u00edas (Carlos Bardem) and Maribel (Fiorella Faltoyano) \u2013 along with their attendees and the artists who parade there every day, generate a unique, competitive and exciting universe, but struggle to combine with their complicated personal and family lives.<\/p>

Produced by\u00a0Mediawan<\/a>\u00a0company\u00a0Good Mood<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 behind TV hits such as \u201cEstoy Vivo,\u201d \u201c4 Estrellas\u201d and \u201cCristo y Rey\u201d \u2013 \u201cLa Agencia\u201d is bound for\u00a0Telecinco<\/a>\u00a0in Spain, the main channel of broadcast network Mediaset Espa\u00f1a. Good Mood founder Daniel \u00c9cija, a legendary producer and showrunner behind more than 30 TV series, is heading the Spanish adaptation and will be able to tap into his own rich history in the industry to elevate the series\u2019 authenticity.<\/p>

Variety<\/em>\u00a0recently visited Rebecca Talent\u2019s fictional offices and sat down with \u00c9cija and Mediaset Espa\u00f1a head of acquisitions Ghislain Barrois to discuss their glitzy new adaptation.<\/p>

A Carefully Crafted Adaptation<\/strong><\/p>

Bringing a successful format to a new market is always a challenge. As \u00c9cija explains, comedy is one of the most complex genres to adapt, as humor is deeply rooted in local culture. \u201cEach country has its own comedic language,\u201d says \u00c9cija. \u201cComedy thrives on cultural truth, which is why adapting \u2018Call My Agent!\u2019 for a Spanish audience required extensive reworking of scripts and characters. We had to make sure the humor resonated with our audience.\u201d<\/p>

This adaptation was not rushed. The development process took nearly a year and a half, reflecting the meticulous approach taken to ensure a balance between authenticity and broad appeal. The writers and producers wanted the show to be unmistakably Spanish while maintaining the sharp wit and charm that made the original French series a global success.<\/p>
